The Gallery houses a stunning collection of New Zealand and international art, which has grown to over 1000 pieces. The art works range from early to contemporary, and showcase the vast and changing nature of artistic endeavour.

The permanent collection includes a number of works by well-known New Zealand greats such as Charles F Goldie, Rita Angus, Colin McCahon and Ralph Hotere, as well as many contemporary artists including Gregor Kregar and Alvin Pankhurst.

Alongside the significant collection of paintings, there is also a vast number of ceramics, carvings, sculptures and mixed media pieces.
